Maroon Bells Amphitheatre
Maroon-Snowmass Trail, Aspen, CO, 81611, United States
Maroon Bells Ceremony Information please read:
We are delighted to welcome you to our outdoor ceremony at the breathtaking Maroon Bells Amphitheater. Because this beautiful setting is located in a protected mountain area, please review the following information carefully as you prepare for the day.
Transportation
Transportation to and from the ceremony will be provided for our guests. We have scheduled two different pickup areas. Shuttles will leave at 1:30pm from the following pickup locations: 9 Lemond Place, Snowmass Village and 55 Upper Woodbridge Road, Suite A4, Snowmass
Please arrive at the designated transportation location at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. The shuttle cannot be delayed for late arrivals due to the venue’s access restrictions.
Mountain Weather
The ceremony will take place outdoors in the mountains. September in Colorado can bring beautiful sunshine, cool temperatures, wind, rain, or even early-season snow, sometimes within the same day. Access to Maroon Bells is weather-dependent, and late-season snow is possible.
We recommend bringing:
A jacket, wrap, or warm layer
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
A small umbrella, depending on the forecast
Please check the Aspen weather forecast before leaving for the ceremony.
Attire and Footwear
The ceremony site includes paved and natural surfaces. We recommend comfortable shoes, block heels, wedges, or heel protectors. Thin stilettos may be difficult to wear on uneven ground.
For a September mountain ceremony, layers are strongly encouraged. Even when the afternoon is sunny, temperatures can become noticeably cooler in shaded areas and later in the day.
Elevation:
Maroon Bells is located at a high elevation. Guests arriving from lower elevations may notice shortness of breath, fatigue, headache, or lightheadedness.
Please drink plenty of water, limit alcohol before the ceremony, eat before departing, and move at a comfortable pace. Guests with medical or respiratory concerns may wish to speak with their healthcare provider before traveling to altitude.
Accessibility:
The shuttle drop-off area is approximately 25 yards from the amphitheater. The parking area is approximately 200 yards away. Accessible vault toilets are available, and the trails immediately surrounding Maroon Lake are generally flat and accessible, although other areas may be rocky or uneven.
Ceremony Comfort:
The amphitheater has permanent bench seating and is completely outdoors. There is no enclosed waiting area, electricity, or reliable cellular service at the venue.
We recommend using the restroom before boarding transportation and bringing only essential personal belongings.
Unplugged Ceremony:
We kindly invite you to silence and put away all phones and cameras during the ceremony. Our professional photography team will beautifully document the celebration, allowing everyone to remain fully present in this extraordinary setting.
Protecting the Maroon Bells
Maroon Bells is a protected natural area. Please remain on designated paths, properly dispose of all belongings, and refrain from picking flowers or removing natural materials.
